A picture or style produced from different size and shaded tiles can cover the wall surfaces in your bathroom. Be inspired by the great Roman baths from 2,000 years ago, which had intricate tile mosaics within the floors and walls. Patterns on your bathroom walls might be intersecting squares and rectangles, a quilt pattern or some geometric shapes. Simple patterns are simpler to design and less costly to install. More intricate designs may require the help of an artist, or designer dealing with the tile installer.
Instead of creating a picture with tiles in your bathroom, select one use and color multiple textures across the wall surfaces. For instance, cover your bathroom walls in shades of blue, but use a number of different materials such as glass, metal or ceramic. Additionally, use pebble tiles, which have pebbles and rocks inlayed into a fine mesh support. The pebble tiles can be laid and grouted like other tiles just. Another texture alternative is faux hardwood porcelain tiles. Other choices with interesting textures include slate, embossed and terra cotta tiles.
